We have been receiving calls from many customers today regarding their bandwidth/Internet access appearing very slow and getting poor performance.

We have tracked the problem down to Windows Update “Torrenting” feature, which is a function designed by Microsoft to push the load of Windows updates off of Microsoft servers AND ON TO YOU, THE CUSTOMERS, BANDWIDTH AND COMPUTER.

You are now paying the bill for Microsoft updates. They are leveraging your infrastructure to update other customers AROUND THE GLOBE.

We are recommending that all customers follow the link below and follow the instructions to set Windows Update to “Local LAN” only to prevent your computer and internet connection from being leveraged by Microsoft to your detriment.

You can also read everything you need to know about this feature at the below link.
